Hudson Catholic Will Remain Open

Alumni and Supporters Pledge More than $508,000 in 14 Days;
Archdiocese of Newark Appoints Hudson Catholic Alumnus to Lead School

New Board Focuses on Turnaround; Long-Term Planning Begins

JERSEY CITY, May 7th – Hudson Catholic Regional High School will remain open next year, thanks to an outpouring of generosity from thousands of alumni, parents, supporters, area businesses and neighbors, who collectively have pledged more than $508,000 over the past 14 days to save the school.

“Hudson Catholic is alive and well, and has come out of this crisis stronger and firmly committed to serving the educational needs of our students,” said Thomas F.X. Bender, chairman of the Hudson Catholic Alumni Association’s Save Our School Committee. “We are overwhelmed and inspired by the generosity of our supporters. And we are grateful for the commitment of the Archdiocese of Newark and the Christian Brothers to work with us as we begin the process of shaping a new future for Hudson Catholic.”

As of today, a total of $508,472.89 has been pledged, surpassing the initial goal of $400,000.
