Alumni Relations Audio Presentations

CASE is the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. It is the international association of alumni relations, communications and marketing, and fund-raising professionals at universities, colleges and independent schools.

NAIS is the National Association of Independent Schools. It is an education association with resources for private independent schools (teacher recruitment, curriculum, fund raising, professional development, enrollment, tuition, financial aid, admissions, marketing, diversity, and public policy).

New online community connects FCCLA’s alumni and associates

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), a national student organization, launched an interactive web site from Alumni Channel for its two million alumni and associates (A&A).   FCCLA alumni and associates, as well as advisers and university professors, now have a dedicated online community space from Alumni Channel, a provider of hosted, online communities for schools and other non-profits. Schools Create Facebook-Style Social Networks to Reach Alumni

While online directories have been part of alumni-association Web sites for more than a decade, such static content gives former students little reason to keep coming back.

Trying to emulate the popularity of Web sites like Facebook and MySpace, hundreds of alumni associations have begun to offer their own online social networks, seeking to stake a claim on the computer screens of current and former students, especially young alumni.

Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence Fall Forum

“Excellence for All: Helping Every Student Shine” is the theme for this year’s Forum, slated from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Oklahoma Memorial Union, 900 Asp Ave., on the University of Oklahoma’s Norman campus. The event is the centerpiece of the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence LEF Outreach Program and is the state’s premier conference for school foundation leaders and others seeking ways to improve the quality of public education in their communities.

Jackson Senior Citizens Give Back To Schools To The Tune Of $20,000

At the start of Tuesday’s board of education meeting, members of the Jackson Educational Foundation were pleasantly surprised when they received a check for $20,000 from their fellow residents. Bill Baletti and Paul Mayerowitz of the Westlake Golf and Country Club Community, and Hal Wohl of the Four Seasons at Metedeconk Lakes, presented the check to the president of the foundation, Martin Spielman.

DuBois Catholic school exceeds $2.55 million campaign goal

DuBOIS – A major capital campaign for DuBois Area Catholic School (elementary, middle and high schools) has exceeded its goal. Officials announced that the campaign, Sustaining The Tradition of Excellence, has raised nearly $2.55 million in pledges, exceeding the goal by $300,000.

“Central Catholic remains a great place for young people to grow in faith and knowledge and skills as they prepare to offer their unique gifts to the world,” Kate Kunkle, chief administrative officer of the school, said.

“Solid education, in the Catholic tradition, is alive and well at Central because of the commitment of the Bishop, our pastors, parents, teachers and staff, alumni, and other generous people who believe in maintaining this life-changing opportunity for today’s students,” she said.
