As January comes to a close I am ever mindful of what an exciting year this will be. With history’s most exciting presidential inauguration behind us, and new strategies for connecting with alumni emerging every month, we are sure to have many exciting opportunities in front of us all. As our alumni populations get smarter with technology each and every day we here at Alumni Channel will be concentrating on the latest trends in on-line strategies, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and SchoolTube, e-mail marketing/communications, MySpace, LinkedIn, and more.
In this issue of our newsletter I’d like to bring attention to several webinars from our friends at Idealware, a provider of candid Consumer-Reports-style reviews and articles about software of interest to nonprofits, and DIOSA | Communications, a company specializing in Web 2.0 Marketing, Web 2.0 Trainings, Webinars, and MySpace Design for nonprofit organizations, higher education, and small businesses.
Over the coming months I hope to share some best practices and tips on using the Internet in ways to help you connect with alumni better. For those of you looking for a professional alumni web site you can add to your organization’s existing web, I encourage you to visit http://www.alumnichannel.com to see how scores of schools and other organizations are communicating with alumni with our online alumni communities.
